Camrose Adult Learning Council is Looking for Volunteers to serve as Board DirectorsServing on a volunteer Board of Directors is a rewarding experience, an opportunity for learning, and a way to contribute to our community. Consider sharing your expertise and innovative ideas as a volunteer Director on the Camrose Adult Learning Council Board.

Camrose Adult Learning Council has openings for the following volunteer positions at this time:

Adult ELL Tutor – assist adult learners one-on-one to help them reach their goals in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Responsibilities include preparing relevant lessons to meet individual needs and interests, building on material covered in class, and practising skills with learners.

Tech Class Assistant – work with students during class, assisting with phones or laptops. Responsibilities include answering questions from learners and assisting students with material covered in class. Volunteers for Tech help should have basic knowledge of cell phone usage, Windows, and the Internet.

Tech Volunteer – assist with Windows updates to CALC laptops to keep them current. Updates need to be run every other month.

Family Literacy Program Assistant – support facilitator in providing a safe, welcoming environment for participants. Responsibilities include greeting families and assisting parents with small children if needed, helping with space setup and cleanup, helping prepare/serve snacks, and being willing to help out as needed.

Adult Class Facilitator – provide opportunities for adult learners to reach their literacy goals. Responsibilities include planning for each 8-week session (with CALC staff) and adapting plans as needed to accommodate the needs of the participants, facilitating weekly sessions, providing updates to CALC staff and seeking support as needed.
