The Alberta Short-Term Employment Forecast (STEF) 2016-2018 provides a three-year overview of occupations expected to be in-demand during that time period. The STEF results, along with other labour market information, can help inform decisions to be made by students in their education and career choices. It also provides awareness to newcomers and prospective immigrants on the employment outlook in Alberta.
The Alberta STEF 2016-2018 examines 450 occupations and ranks them into the following four demand categories: High; Moderately High; Medium; and Low. Each of the 450 occupations were analyzed using number of quantitative and qualitative indicators.
